The owner of this garden in Teddington contacted us to get help transforming a neglected corner of this beautiful garden into an attractive feature and focal point from the house.
When working in existing gardens it is very important to ensure that all new additions blend in seamlessly with the old. This can be achieved using materials found elsewhere in the garden or use a planting scheme that echos some of the existing plants.
We used the existing Wisteria plant, draped over a decorative steel frame, as an anchor to develop the new planting design around it. The planting consists mainly of Hydrangeas, grasses at different heights and herbaceous perennials to support pollinators. Level changes were managed with creating small dry stone walls and a stone paved path connects to the main garden.
The first three images show the planting developing from Spring into Summer.
