Planting Design, Ashford

This south facing garden was neatly laid out and a mature Copperbeech adds to its charm. The plants in certain areas of the garden were struggling due to landscape fleece covered with bark mulch to suppress weeds.

Before planting the landscape fleece was taken out, the soil enriched with organic compost to encourage worms and micro organisms getting active again in the soil.

The planting design consists of herbaceous perennials, ornamental grasses for structure and movement, small shrubs to give interest all year and existing plants have been included in the new scheme. The herbaceous borders are now the focal point in the garden and add to an extraordinarily, tranquil atmosphere.
